The Basketball Hall of Fame and the Chris Paul Family Foundation are thrilled to announce the combined HBCU Basketball Event, set to take place at the CareFirst Arena in Washington, DC on December 4th and 5th, 2026. This dynamic event will feature two competitive brackets showcasing some of the finest talent from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

In the Division I bracket, fans can look forward to thrilling matchups between Howard University, Tennessee State University, Florida A&M University, Hampton University, Grambling State University, and Norfolk State University. These teams are known for their high-energy play and skilled athletes, promising an exciting display of basketball prowess.

The Division II bracket will highlight the remarkable talents of Clark Atlanta University, Winston Salem State University, Virginia State University, and West Virginia State University. These teams will have the opportunity to shine and demonstrate their skills and teamwork.

This event is more than just a series of games; it's a celebration of HBCU culture and the significant contributions these institutions make to higher education and athletics. Fans can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with spirited competition, school pride, and community engagement.
